Small Business Show #35 with Martha Rotter of Idea Magazine

Martha RotterMartha Rotter, publisher of Idea Magazine, joins us to review this week’s news.  Idea is a digital magazine aimed at Irish innovators and published bi-monthly.  It’s also a showcase for the work of Woopie (Write Only Once, Publish It Everywhere) their digital publishing services business.

We discuss the KPMG report which puts Ireland in pole position for a global recovery.  Austerity is making us competitive internationally, but it has seriously impacted consumer spending at home.  It’s a challenge for SMEs, and perhaps an opportunity, as we spend less and save more.  We talk about the government investment of €30m in Irish healthcare companies managed by a San Francisco venture capital firm, and ask: where is the private capital?  And as we celebrate St Patrick’s Day, 70% of retailers will be hoping to cash in on the passing trade.

The Small Business Show is syndicated weekly on Irish radio stations and podcast each Friday on focusmeireland.com.  You can subscribe for free to download the MP3s automatically using RSS or iTunes.
