Government To ‘Assess’ Film Tax Relief

The government has today launched an invitation for submissions on the operation, status and future development of Section 481 Tax relief, also known as ‘film relief’. The invitation is has been called for to asses the relief after 2015.

The Government will also assess the impact additional taxes would have on the film industry in Ireland in terms of investors, audiovisual industry and the economy. The Section 481 tax relief is the one of the longest running sector specific tax reliefs in the Irish tax system.
