Galway company, Aerogen, has been given an Innovation Technology Award which for their contribution to asthma and allergy care.
The award was presented to Aerogen by Allergy & Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics 
(AANMA), a leading national non-profit patient education organization, in recognition the Aeroneb Go home care nebulizer.
The nebuliser is a lightweight and portable and has developed a strong following among asthmatics and other respiratory disease patients.
The unique technology allows drugs to be nebulized into a fine particle mist that can be absorbed through the lungs while maintaining drug integrity.
AANMA Founder and President Nancy Sander said “Our organization’s sole mission is to eliminate needless suffering and death due to allergies, asthma and related conditions.” The award highlights technology which helps address this goal. Other winners on the night included Genentech, GlaxoSmithKline, Boehringer Ingelheim and Teva.

Aerogen currently exports over 90% of the products it designs and makes.
