Seven out of ten of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed’ Companies have revealed that they plan to recruit in the current year.
A survey conducted among Deloitte’s ‘Best Managed’ companies revealed that 67% felt better about their business than they did this time last year.
42% of respondents say they believe it will be the second half of 2012 before the economy returns to growth.
One third of businesses surveyed identified improving customer sentiment as the most important factor in returning the economy to growth, followed by restoring credibility and integrity in the banking sector.
The survey also revealed that lack of customer demand was the biggest challenge facing indigenous Irish companies.
While 58% of respondents said that their company has expanded into markets outside of Ireland in the last 12 months.
The ‘Best Managed’ Companies have total revenues of €6.9bn and employ over 18,800 people.
