CSO Figures Reveal Lift in ‘Traditional’ Manufacturing Sectors

The Central Statistics Office has revealed that production for manufacturing industries fell by 1.4% in the second quarter of this year as compared to Q1.

Production in the Manufacturing Sector for May of this year was up by .3% than the same time last year.

Sectors such as high- technology and chemicals, showed a decrease in production of 1.4%. While more ‘Traditional’ industries increased by 4.4%.

The seasonally adjusted industrial turnover index for Manufacturing Industries was 1.4pc higher in May 2011 when compared with April 2011.
